I admit I am a little slow. I heard of the rapper Drake and I knew he was blowing up. But I didn’t connect WHO he was.
It wasn’t until a few months ago I was at the movie theatre with my friend and they had a Sprite commercial on before the movie.
I turned to my friend and I said, “Oh that’s cute! That’s the kid from Degrassi. He rapped in the show. I wonder if he’s making an album?”
She then looked at me as if I grew a second head, “Ummm…that’s Drake!”
I looked at her confused, “No, I’m pretty sure his name is Aubrey Graham.”
“Yeah, but he goes by Drake,” she informed me.
Suddenly it all made sense. That is why Rhianna dated him briefly. I mean she was dating Drake not some actor from a Canadian teen soap opera. No offense, Aubrey!
But no matter how dope his rhymes are, I will always think of him as Jimmy from Degrassi. This particular scene is burned into my brain. It’s probably the most famous Degrassi scene ever! The school shooting. They beat One Tree Hill! Degrassi went there.

Don't watch degrassi, but the scene gave me chills. Yet another blog where I have no idea who you are talking about....jimmy, aubrey, drake...no idea, but I am loving the blogs!!!
Not very many people know about degrassi. Degrassi is a Canadian teen soap that has been on forever. They play it on teen nick. I discovered it a few years ago and caught up on like 5 seasons in one summer. Aubrey is now a rapper and his album dropped on tuesday if you go on iTunes.
